Troop Leaders
There are many ways to bring science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to your girl scouts. Check with your council headquarters to see what types of STEM programming they offer. If your council doesn't offer any formal STEM programs, there are many ways to bring them to your troop meeting or service unit event. Each month check the "Activity of the Month" section on this website for a fun, easy, low-cost science experiment or activity to do with your girls. It's up to you as a troop leader to encourage all girls to have a broad range of interests, and showing them how fun and easy science is will help them discover something they may otherwise have never given a chance. Help a girl discover inquiry based learning -make STEM activities a regular part of your troop!!

Within the council, there are several easy and fun ways to bring STEM to your girls. You can talk to the Bridging the Gap coordinator for your service unit about checking out these fun and easy tubs full of supplies and instructions for STEM activities. Another option is to sign girls up for a Plugged-In program at the science outpost at Camp Tongawood. If you are looking to add some fun and educational programs to their summer schedule, try Inventure U or one of the several STEM programs at Camp Prairie Schooner. No matter what you're looking for, you can get more information at the Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri website.
